Window Armor
Digital Design, Nov '06
www.windowarmor.com
A fairly new company in the protective window film industry had not recieved the traction it needed yet to secure big contracts. A logo and brand image had already been developed but many said it was outdated and needed a fresh look. Taking this existing identity and keeping the company's long term goals in mind we moved them to a more modern brand image to showcase the company's 21st century security technology. Along with this refreshed look came the creation of a brand hierarchy that included one parent brand and two associated sub-brands. This design was carried forward into the creation of the new company website and marketing tools.

LaserDoc Skincare
Digital Design, Mar '06
www.laserdocskincare.com
A new startup skincare company needed both an identity and a web presence. Developing the identity meant doing the market research and deciding on a company name to match the services being offered. Next came the development of an image which came in the form of a logo, color schemes and branding attitude. This segued nicely into the creation of a website that was fresh and informative. This company was the first company in which Adobe Contribute was utilized for keeping the site up-to-date. This puts the business owner in the drivers seat of their website rather than having to go through the original designer to make each change.

Working for the PowerPoint team in Mountain View, CA I was put in charge of a number of feature areas for the Office 2007 release. This time the task was not to develop a single feature for numerous Office apps but to develop multiple features simultaneously for a single app, namely Microsoft PowerPoint. This internship included many lessons learned including management multi-tasking, customer research and applied mathematics in design. One of my feature areas did not end up being utilized but was garnered with the awarding of a patent filing.

Diablo Iron
Digital Design, Aug '05
www.diabloiron.com
An existing structural and ornamental iron business decided to update its image and provide online sales tools. After talks with the owner it was clear he wanted to take his business into higher end of the iron market. Doing this meant developing a new identity for the company and changing the perception of potential clients. A logo was developed along with a color scheme and company style that was all it's own. This guided the development of a company website where potential clients could see a complete list of products and get a sense of what they wanted before making the purchase. The owner stated that the website more than paid for itself in its first month of operation due to increased sales revenue.

Worked on the Office Shared Services (OSS) team in Redmond, WA performing a complete rethink of a pre-existing feature across Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. The design was evolved by utilizing both internal and external research. The design then went through a series of overall reviews as well as technical reviews before it was ready to be described in a specification document. At this point the design was grown into a 32 page technical specification that had to again go through numerous review stages before it was ready for coding.
